Community Homes selects Brenda Franzone as the December 2023 Resident of the Month.
Brenda Franzone, a popular person in the resident community of Community Home of Lebanon County, is happy to state that she has been a resident of Tulpehocken Terrace in Myerstown for about the last eight years. ‘I really like living here,” she says, “The staff is a great help, and I enjoy being around the other people who live here”. One staff member, Bonnie Heist, reinforces that thought.” Everyone loves Brenda. She is very easy to get along with and is very popular with the residents”.
Before moving to Myerstown, Brenda was born and raised in Lehighton, Pennsylvania, her one and only hometown. Lehighton is in Carbon County, near Jim Thorpe (once called Mauch Chunk). Her motivation to move – she has two sons, Ronald (call him Pete) and Steven, who live and work in Lebanon County. She wanted to be closer to them and now is. She patiently waited over seven years for an apartment to become available at Tulpehocken Terrace. “Getting that call was a happy day for me,” she exclaimed.
Perhaps her easy and caring manner is a result of her professional life in nursing. Her 43 years working in that profession included Doctor’s offices, hospitals, the Lebanon Valley Brethren Home, as well as Stoneridge and Cedar Haven in Lebanon.
She grew up in a household that included parents Martin and Myrtle Everett, and seven girls. It was a happy family. She boasts two sons, two daughters, and five grandchildren. And eight great-grandchildren.
In response to the question “What makes you proud”? Brenda quickly replied, “My family and what I accomplished as a nurse”. There is no argument. Brenda Franzone is a very good choice to represent the resident community for our Holiday Season.
